Chateau Haut Brion 2007

Hailing from the Pessac Leognan region of Graves, France, Chateau Haut Brion stands as a legendary pillar of winemaking with a history stretching back to 1533. This estate holds a unique status as both a 1855 Premier Grand Cru Classe and a Cru Classe de Graves. Under the stewardship of the Dillon family since 1935, the winery has championed a philosophy of technical progress, notably becoming the first First Growth to adopt stainless steel fermentation vats in 1961.

Wine Description

The 2007 vintage presents a striking visual of deep red-violet and crimson. Its aromatic profile is notably fragrant, weaving together scents of plum sauce, black cherry, and red fruit with earthier undertones of graphite, sandalwood, and crushed stone. On the palate, the wine is suave and medium-bodied, characterized by silky tannins and a savory, meaty finish that persists long after the first sip. A blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 13% Cabernet Franc, this selection showcases a distinct mineral complexity. While it has reached its prime drinking plateau, it is expected to remain exceptional through 2040.
