Les Petites Jamelles Rouge 2024

Les Petites Jamelles Rouge 2024 is a light, intensely fruity red wine produced by Les Jamelles under the IGP Terres du Midi classification in Southern France.

Crafted by master winemakers Catherine and Laurent Delaunay, the wine captures the warm, welcoming spirit and "joie de vivre" of the Mediterranean. The Terres du Midi landscape spans across the diverse soils of the Gard, Hérault, Aude, and Pyrénées-Orientales regions—ranging from cool high-altitude plateaus to sun-baked coastal plains. Rather than adhering to the region's historic tradition of heavy, rich, and high-alcohol reds, this modern bottling values vibrant freshness, crisp textures, and pure fruit crushability.

Wine Description

The 2024 vintage catches the eye with an elegant, vibrant cherry-red color featuring lively highlights.

  • Aromas: The nose is luscious and highly inviting, driven by dominant fruit scents of crisp cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate.

  • Palate: On the palate, the attack is soft, supple, and immediate. It presents a beautifully balanced, delicate medium-to-light body that meshes a rounded mouthfeel with an animating freshness.

  • Finish: The palate shows soft, melted, and distinctly "crunchy" fruit tannins that dissolve into a clean, fresh, and remarkably long fruit-forward finish.

The wine is primarily a blend of Grenache Noir and Caladoc. To prioritize primary fruit over heavy structure, the grapes undergo full destemming followed by a short, low-temperature maceration lasting just a few days. This deliberate winemaking technique prevents heavy tannin extraction, resulting in a lively, easy-drinking profile. The wine features an ABV of 13% and is sealed under a screwcap to maintain its youthful energy.
