Salentein Cuvee Expectionelle Brut

This sophisticated sparkling wine originates from Argentina, crafted in the high-altitude terrains of the Uco Valley within the Mendoza region. Bodegas Salentein was founded in 1997 by Dutch visionary Mijndert Pon, who set out to transform Argentinian winemaking by producing first class estate wines. The winery's philosophy deeply respects the local ecosystem while utilizing innovative European techniques and modern technology to showcase the unique terroir of the Andes foothills.

Wine Description

The Salentein Cuvée Exceptionnelle Brut showcases a bright, golden yellow colour with subtle greenish sparks. The nose reveals a fresh and highly expressive bouquet dominated by aromas of green apple, crisp citrus fruits, and pineapple, beautifully underscored by a delicate note of toasted bread from its time on the lees. On the palate, this medium bodied sparkling wine is smooth and fruity, delivering vibrant orchard fruit flavours balanced by a crisp acidity and a fine, lingering effervescence. Crafted from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir harvested from the El Oasis Estate at 1,100 metres above sea level, the wine undergoes its secondary fermentation using the Charmat method followed by six months of 'sur lie' aging. The optimal drinking window for this non-vintage sparkling wine is best enjoyed fresh over the next three to four years.

Food Pairing

This elegant sparkling wine makes a fantastic aperitif and pairs wonderfully with lean fish, calamari, fresh oysters, and refined seafood starters. This pairing highlights the wine's depth and character.
